Wednesday... now Thursday

RIP Dick & Davy

Davy Jones died at the end of February, of course, and today we lost Dick Clark.

Davy Jones. The Monkees.

Dick Clark. American Bandstand. New Year's Rockin' Eve.

Big chunk o' my teenage entertainment and enlightenment right there.

And let's not forget the $25,000 Pyramid! God, I loved that show  -- even more than Let's Make A Deal, The Dating Game, and The Newlyweds, though perhaps not quite as much as Password... maybe I'd call it a tie.

I feel exactly the same - add in Don Cornelius and Soul Train, and it's like the the whole soundtrack of my teen years...

It's a big loss for you early rock 'n rollers, Dale is feeling it, too.

Robin F.

Grew up watching Dick Clark- loved the pyramid-we would turn off the sound and play along. I felt wounded watching Dick after his stroke (I had a stroke years ago and wouldn't want to be on national TV for all to see the ravages). He is in a safer place now.
BTW I went to the movies with one of my DD and saw a preview for Dark Shadows the movie- I tried to explain that it was a soap opera back in the day- we watched it before Shindig in the afternoons.

I grew up with Dick Clark. We all did. Sad day.

I, like so many others, was going to marry Davy Jones. ;-) my Mom always has Password on. Sad day, but so much great came from Dick Clark!
