Mum
January 31, 1938 - June 23, 2014
The boys picked a vaseful of flowers from Mom's garden because they knew how much she'd love that. They loved their Nonni so much.
The cousins finally had an opportunity to spend some time together and, boy, would Mum have enjoyed that. They stuck like glue! It's going to be so fun to see their friendship develop and grow as they do.
Even though this morning's forecast said that it was supposed to rain all day... and for the next three or four... the sun came out! Blue sky and lovely clouds over the roof of her house. And guess what? The sun will be out, for the most part, all week. (Hi Mom.)
Oh, Vicki, I'm so very sorry. I wish I had adequate words of condolence. "There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart." -Mahatma Gandhi

Welk, Bonny, those words are awfully good. I've never read that quote before... committing to memory now. Thank you.

I've often thought that my mom had been put in charge of sunsets as she loved them so very much. Perhaps your mom has been put in charge of beautiful blue skies and clouds.
I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Our Mothers never leave us. Your family has come together over and over again to support and love each other and you have each other to lean on. Take time to grieve, to give to yourself, to find peace. Much love to you, Vicki.

My deepest sympathy,Vicki. Your photo of the families' hands together captures how we hold each other close in love and comfort. A beautiful family will be her legacy.

The picture of the hands is so very touching. My own mother had a "thing" about hands, so it means something extra to me. You sounds as if you're doing alright. I hope your healing continues.

I'm sorry about your Mom's passing, Vicki. It looks like there were many of you there to send her off and I'm sure she appreciated that. Those are definitely angels in the cloud photo. Peaceful healing to you and your family.

I am thinking of you & your family Vicki. So glad that you are surrounded by love and support. My mum was a Donovan too; when she died in 2011 I found much solace in knitting of course, making things for the people around me. Peace to you and yours...

I am so sorry for your loss. They say there is no loss like your mother. And yet, we all hope the best of us is transmitted to future generations, and I think of those next pictures of those boys. So much you and the older ones will have to share with the littlest about your mom. Blessings on you all.

Oh Vicki,
I am sad to learn of your Mom's death. I'm late in catching up on reading blog posts. What lovely memories you have of her and she is obviously sending you signs to let you know that she very present in your life. I cannot help but believe that in some way she and your sister Sharon are together. Blessings and all good to you.
