Weekending / FO: Romi's Mystery Shawl 2015
I found myself on Saturday morning with just enough time to soak & block a shawl before running off to meet Annie for lunch.
I used three blocking wires, threading one down the center of the shawl, and the other two at the top. I folded the shawl in half, anchored the sides with the wires, and pulled out and pinned the points.
For one thing, it's a big shawl and wouldn't fit on my Block 'n Roll mat; for another, it's arguably a little less work this way; and, lastly, both sides turn out the same!

Rusty took the glamorous FO photos modeled by yours truly. (Dirty garage door!)
Isn't it a beautiful design? I love it. Here's another photo...
...I'll upload the rest, including some more detailed shots, to the Ravelry project page.
You look fabulous and the shawl is a work of art. Yes, I love it and it truly is a beautiful design. You picked the very best colors, too! The way you block makes so much sense. I'm going to borrow that method for my next blocking job.

Gorgeous! I've yet to block mine I think I will adopt your "method". Thanks for the heads up. Love the matador pose. :-)

That is gorgeous, and I love the color combination too. Looks gorgeous on you!
My little worry with the fold and block: Did you get a crease down the center of your shawl? I have a crease in my latest cowl from the fold. You can put a piece of pvc pipe (or pretty much anything, but shawls are big enough to need something major) at the fold and that will keep it from creasing, but I didn't. I need to reblock; steaming didn't take care of it.

I love those colors together and you did an absolutely fabulous job. The photos are great, too! I think you and I are the only ones who pulled out every little point, a lot of others did either the point under the big "leaf" or the point under all of the yarn overs.

Thank you for the blocking idea. My shawl has been languishing while I faced the need to buy more mats. This will so save me from that (for a time at least). Love how yours came out.
