Ten on Tuesday:  10 Albums that I Love

These are among the albums that come to mind when nothing else is cutting it. They're comfortable, familiar, meaningful, and/or transportational -- in that they "take me" to a time or place where I find happiness or contentment, or just wanna ROCK OUT.

1 - Twin Sons of Different Mothers - Dan Fogelberg & Tim Weisberg

2 - Buckingham Nicks - Lindsay Buckingham & Stevie Nicks

3 - Flirtin' With Disaster - Molly Hatchet

4 - Tea for the Tillerman - Cat Stevens

5 - Damn The Torpedoes - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers

6 - Jesus Christ Superstar (or Jesus Christ Superstar) (they're different!)

7 - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles

8 - Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkel

9 - Songbird - Eva Cassidy

10 - Stardust - Willie Nelson

What's on your turntable?

It was so hard to choose just 10! I'm surprised we have a match--but Sgt. Pepper's was the first CD I ever got.

Great list, Vicki! Wow, some really memorable albums here!

I couldn't manage to come up with a list of my own, but you've got a great one. I had completely forgotten about Twin Sons of Different Mothers and I'm going to be singing Jesus Christ Superstar all morning!

Sgt. Pepper is one of my favorite Beatles albums! I love Stardust, but could add Red Headed Stranger to my list. I think I wore out the vinyl recordings (my turn table is long gone). :(

You have great albums on your list!

So happy to see Cat Stevens on your list, I love him still...and JCSS....loved the original album and loved the movie too...and I wore out Simon and Garfunkel in college

Gale Zucker (she shoots sheep shots)

whew- those are some real blasts from the pasts. I think I still know all the words to some of those! i think my memories are as much about scrutinizing the cover art as listening.

I want to call you! J.C.S.S!!! Every word. And Tea for the Tillerman. And Eva. I only have Imagine and I do love every song. Great list Vicki!

Great choices, Vicki! That Fogelberg album was such a favorite of mine . . . (And Eva. Sigh. . . )

what a great list! I love how specific albums take us back in time...to when all we had was a turntable...and we'd listen to one side at a time.
