Eye Candy Friday
FO: Alfalfa Baby Hat

Weekending

It snowed (lightly) all day long yesterday, and there was a nice warm glow under the pergola last night when the lights came on.

Inside, I finally dug out and copied some old floor plans. We've been talking about doing some reconfiguring to add another bath -- or (after pricing shower units - yowza!) at least a half-bath.

Fixtures/appliances may not be to scale... heheh.

I spent a fair bit of time knitting on my Project Peace Cowl. I had a party on Friday night, so had a little catching up to do! I'm right on target, though, and the piece is actually 4x longer now than shown below.

And I am loooooving it!

We had a Plated delivery over the weekend. One of the meals was trout (delicious) and the other was bibimbap!

I've never ordered bibmbap for myself at a restaurant before, having only tasted Kate's. It was good -- obviously, good enough that I ordered when it came through as a menu option (and I knew that Katie would like it)!

You cannot see the crispy sushi rice underneath it all. Arguably my favorite part, I loved a little bit of crispy rice on my fork with every bite. Atop the rice is some beef, wilted spinach, a pickled carrot-cucumber salad, a fried egg, and a dipping sauce for the beef to finish it off. I'd certainly never have attempted, out of the blue, to make this myself from scratch... but send me a box with all of the ingredients and step-by-step/photographic directions? I'm on it. And now that I've done it, I will certainly do it again -- it was SO good. Kate said that she even liked it better than the restaurant version! I have a few trial invitations for Plated (worth up to $72); if you're interested in trying it out, let me know.

Mmmmm. That looks SO good! (I might be interested in trying Plated. . . ) :-)

I hope your plans come together for the extra bath. Your bibimbap looks SO good. I have never heard of it and, certainly, never tried it. Several friends have various brands of dinner deliveries and the all sound fabulous. I'm too lazy to do that much cooking!

I always like reading about food, especially something that I've never tried before! Like Margene, I've never heard of bibimbap, but after looking at several recipes I think I could give it a try. Looks delicious and also a really fun word to say!

I usually rely on you for all my Wisconsin weather info - lovely light on the pergola, time to switch to winter-friendly shoes :) - so it was a pleasant surprise when I got a text from Sara yesterday morning with a peaceful snowy treescape... pretty on a Sunday!

Robby

Both the cowl and your dinner look wonderful. I'd be interested in any thoughts you have re: Plated - anything you love or is disappointing. A friend is interviewing with a competitor and would be interested in your thoughts, especially price point. If you have time, I know it's the time of year we are all busy.

Carole

Dinner looks delicious! I didn't get to knit yesterday so now I'm a day behind but I know I'll catch up on the cowl soon.

Snow is pretty to look at, I got cold just looking tho- I'm glad I'm back in FL. If you can squeeze a shower out of your budget- go for it- you'll be getting more and more company and will need it.
Bibibop is yummy. Yours looks professional-altho I'm not a fan of fried egg on top. I'm behind on my peace knit-Love how yours looks.

Your cowl is gorgeous. Your meal looks delicious. However, my husband wouldn't come within ten feet of something like that. Sigh. I'm always amazed at how much you accomplish. :)

That looks so good! And, an extra bath (even a half!!) is a Godsend!

Bibmbap is a favorite of my husbands. I may have to try Plated just so we can try making it at home. I've really felt like I've been in a rut with my desire to cook lately. When I do it comes out well, but get started is just beating me up. What to make with the current ingredients on hand. If I have even a vague (thank you for the recent recipe links) idea I can make something, but without a thought or inspiration I'm just not getting there. Love the pergola.

That first snow looks so pretty! Sucks me in every time. Although I don't mind waiting a little longer for ours. (it snowed 10 miles north of here yesterday but we got rain).
