Unraveled Wednesday: Parallelogram progress

Joining Kat & friends again this week...

KNITTING:

I snapped a couple of quick, not real great photos this morning:

I think (hope) this is going to be interesting... there's the first of two "yellow periods" happening right now. There'll be a bit more purple ahead, more hints of green, and then gray.

Can't I knit all day?

Or sew? Margene's post today has me contemplating daily stitching on my Alabama Chanin Car Jacket. One stitch is better than none, right?

READING:

I've begun reading Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder. I did much more knitting than reading while we were away for the weekend, so it's off to a slow start... but it is so very interesting! I can't wait to re-read some of LIW's books (or the whole series).

I've yet to pop one of the library CDs into a player to listen to Sherman Alexie's The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian because... really?? First-world problems, but this is so inconvenient... Why is this not available on Audible?? As much as I want to hear it, I'm afraid it might fizzle...

Bonny

It looks like you are off to a good start! One stitch is better than none, but knitting or sewing (or reading) all day would be sublime!

Carole

I'm always surprised when something isn't available on audible or audiobooks.com! Why CAN'T we knit or read ALL DAY? Stupid jobs and responsibilities. Heh.

Vera

Love your scarf colors - happy!! Like Bonny & Carole, I would prefer to be knitting and reading (and probably napping too) all day.

Kym

Knitting all day . . . or stitching all day . . . or reading all day . . . sound so much more pleasant than what I'm actually . . . doing all day. XO

I love the new yarns together! And, yes, why can't we make and read all day!! XO

Absolute True Diary is available on audio at our library, so I'm not sure why it's not on Audible. :( I LOVE your Parallelogram! The colors look like they'll work out well. So far (two days) I've been able to get a few stitches on my T. I'm excited about stitching along as it just might get done this year!

Jeanette

I am just starting the Parallelogram - inspired by you and Mason Dixon. I'm not sure how to carry the second color when it's not being knitted - new to this concept. Any hints?

Your color choices are beautiful. It's so fun to see how the colors evolve along the way. Thanks for any support you can provide!

Oh I love your Parallelogram - despite your severals starts, I'm guessing you've made more progress than I have! (certainly your colors are more interesting. mine are still gray and green). I hope you track down the audible version. and listen. because I have it in my library and haven't made time for it ... yet!
